Juanelle (Cooksey) Roberts passed away Saturday, February 25, 2012 at the age of 77 ending a year-long battle with stomach cancer.

Juanelle was born in Vincent, OK on March 25, 1934 to Alva Eugene & Bertha Lee (Cox) Wooldridge. She graduated from Mangum High School, Mangum, OK in 1952. She married Raymon Lewis Cooksey of Reed, OK in 1952. After living in El Paso, Texas while Raymon served in the US Army, they moved to Allen, TX in 1958 where she was an active member of First Baptist Church. She worked for the City of Allen from 1975-1982 during which time she served as Allen City Secretary from 1976-1982. She left the City of Allen to work for Allen ISD as Community Education Coordinator from 1982-1999. After retiring from Allen ISD, she worked as church secretary for First Prebyterian Church of Allen. She also helped establish the North Dallas Chapter of the Fellowship of Missionary Parents. In 2004, she married Richard Roberts of Allen, TX.

Juanelle was preceded in death by her parents and brothers Alva Wooldridge, Jr., Ted Woodridge and Udell Wooldridge and one grandchild, David Cooksey.

She is survived by her husband, Richard Roberts of Allen, TX; three children: Cindy Cooksey Wink and husband, Gary, of Anna, TX; Beverly Cooksey Crosby and husband, Blake, of Richardson, TX; and Ronny Lewis Cooksey and wife, Kathy, of McMinnville, OR; and four step children: Gina Roberts High and husband, Dan, of Pasadena, TX; Sheryl Roberts Kelly and husband, John, of Richardson, TX; and Tony Roberts and wife, Dawn, of Keller, TX; and Stephen Roberts and wife, Lorie, of Greenville, TX. She is also survived by 21 grandchildren and 8 great-grandchildren.

The family will receive friends during visitation on Wednesday, February 29, 2010 from 6:30 pm -8:30 PM at the Allen Family Funeral Options, Plano, TX. Funeral Service will be Thursday, March 1, 2012 at 10:00 AM at First Baptist Church, Allen, TX. Interment will follow at the Allen Cemetery.

In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to either the American Cancer Society or the International Mission Board (P. O. Box 6767, Richmond, VA 23230-0767).
