Memories of Mom.....
Where to begin? There is so much to say. We are brimming with special memories of Mom......here is but a glimpse..... a 'snapshot' of things near and dear to Mom:
Our mom was a very special lady....loved by all. She was blessed with the gift of laughter and a quick and witty sense of humor. Her laughter would permeate the entire room and before long, we all would be laughing almost to the point of tears. We are all quite certain that her laughter will be resonating through the hallways of heaven! Mom's teddy bear hugs were also a delight and were a sure-fired remedy for all that ailed you. Her humor and 'dare-me-to mode' were ingredients for a cocktail of fun, laughter and excitement!
Mom (and Dad too) loved to entertain and were the 'life' of many parties. Mom loved having friends and family over. She was the perfect hostess. Residents in the mobile home park looked so forward to coming to her home, especially at Christmas. They took great delight in 'touring' her home as it was all decked out in holiday attire. Mom had a special knack in "Decking the Walls" and providing "Joy to All". The decorations were magical. Mr. & Mrs. Claus, Minnie & Mickey Mouse, Pooh & Tigger, Snow White and the Seven Dwarfs, elves, teddy bears, and dolls all had special roles in this Christmas scene. She also took the blue ribbon in the cooking & baking arenas and at Christmas she went 'Above and Beyond'. Delivery of her delectable Xmas goodies was eagerly anticipated on an annual basis. Goodies included her famous chocolate chip cookies (look out Mrs. Fields!), potica, pecan tarts, snowball cookies, pizzelles...just to name a few. These were a big hit for all....even Santa! She took great delight in cooking and baking for both family and friends. She made the best lasagna ever. The taste and smell are something that all of our family will never forget. Friends and family could always count on L.O.L. and lots of food at Moms :)
Mom was also a Polka Queen. She loved this dance and was a terrific polka dancer. The main emphasis in many polka songs is the use of one musical instrument. Mom's favorite was the accordion. I am sure that Frankie Yankovic (the Polka King) would be proud of Mom as she and her relatives (who have gone before her) dance to the Beer Barrel Polka (Roll Out the Barrel) and Who Stole the Kiska. We do believe that they all will have a barrel of fun and that Mom will be the first one out on the dance floors in heaven.
Mom showed us how to love.....there is no better way to learn this than by example. She modeled this well. Her joy for life is infectious and will be missed by all. Mamma has been Knocking on Heaven's Door for a while. She missed Papa so much and so wanted to be with him. Her wish has come to fruition. Mom will forever be in our hearts and minds. Till we meet again Sweet Momma, We All Love You!
