Ross Lyle was born February 19, 1959 in Othello, Washington to parents Elwyn and Dorothy Lyle. “The Rooster” Lyle of Richardson, Texas passed away August 10, 2018.
He grew up on the family wheat farm in Connell, Washington with his three siblings, Craig, Ed, and Sharon. Ross graduated with a Bachelor of Business Administration from Washington State University where he and his wife Tonia met. After college, he and Tonia moved to San Francisco to kickstart their careers, and then to Richardson where he graduated from the Master of Business Administration from The University of Texas at Dallas. While in Texas, Ross was a Commercial Real Estate Lender by day, and by night/weekend the Co-Founder of the highly esteemed Lyle’s Lemonade and Lyle’s Lawn Mowing enterprises, and countless less successful but equally rewarding endeavors, with his two sons, Greg and Brad. During his free time Ross was a coach of his sons’ hockey teams and mentored their junior golf careers.
Ross loved sports, becoming what some may consider a modern renaissance man with his unapologetic mastery of Golf, Bowling, Billiards, Foosball, Darts, Shuffle Board, Tennis, Table Tennis, and amateur canoe racing. Ross enjoyed watching WSU Cougar football, ensuring all personal effects bore a proud WSU logo and possibly contributing to the high occurrence of Crimson through the Lyle household (ex: kitchen cabinets, guest bathroom, most chairs, entire living room, lineage of automobiles….).
Ross was an honest, enthusiastic and loving man. He always put his family and friends first and took pride in making everyone laugh and enjoy life to the fullest. Ross constantly sought new challenges and enjoyed mentoring and sharing the lessons he learned along the way. He will be greatly missed.
Ross is survived by his wife Tonia Lyle, sons Ross Gregory Lyle, Jr and his wife Virjinia and Bradley James Lyle, mother Dorothy Lyle, siblings Craig Lyle and his wife Karen, Ed Lyle, Sharon Damon and her husband Mike, mother-in-law Barbara Korneev, nieces and nephews Andy, Brandon, Kelsey and Darren and many loving additional family members and friends. He is preceded in death by his father Elwyn Lyle.
The family will receive friends Sunday, August 19, 2018 from 6:00-8:00 P.M. at Allen Family Funeral Options.
A Rosary (optional) will begin Monday, August 20, 2018 at 10:15 A.M. with a funeral service at 11:00 A.M. at All Saints Catholic Church, 5231 Meadowcreek, Dallas, Texas 75248 . There will be a reception at the church immediately following the service. Following the reception Ross will be laid to rest at Restland Memorial Park, Greenville Avenue at Restland Road, Dallas, Texas.
