John Edward Lupe, III (better known as Johnny to family and friends) was born on July 29, 1969 in Akron, Ohio to parents John Edward Lupe, II and Betty Jo Davis Lupe. Johnny was strong, fit, healthy and totally devoted to his family. He attended the University of Oklahoma and was a lifelong Sooner fan and loved sports of all kinds. Johnny met his wife Kristi at OU and they were married on September 20, 1997. Their children, Brady and Abby were adored by Johnny and his unending love for them and Kristi will be forever remembered. Johnny had a great sense of humor and an amazing smile. He was a great story teller, a devoted friend and tremendous encourager. Johnny was a methodical thinker and was very tech-savvy. He was obedient, yet a determined person when he set his mind to a task. At home, he amused his children, especially Abby, as a “fast eater” and “sleep talker”. Johnny left this life and all of those who loved him much too early, on June 24, 2017 at the age of 47. Earth’s loss is definitely Heaven’s gain. Johnny was preceded in death by his father and is survived by his loving wife Kristi Lupe, son Brady Lupe, daughter Abby Lupe, mother Betty Lupe, sister Teresa Voth and her husband Brian, father and mother in law Ronnie and Karen Raper, sister in laws Sheri Pride and her husband Corey and Niki Gammill and her husband Russ, nieces and nephews Connor and Emily Voth, Rachel, Chase and Will Pride and Davis and Katie Gammill. Johnny is also survived by many loving additional family members and a host of friends. A memorial service to honor Johnny’s life will be held at 11:00 a.m. on Friday, June 30, 2017 at First Baptist Church of Frisco, 7901 Main Street, Frisco, Texas 75034 with Pastor Daniel Kitchel officiating.
