Norman E Schulman

January 24, 1953 — November 6, 2016

Norman Edward Schulman was born January 24, 1953 in Altoona, Pennsylvania to parents Clarence and Mary Schulman. Norm died Sunday, November 6, 2016 in Plano, Texas. He was a happy man who loved his wife and children and devoted his life to caring for and giving to them and others. When his sons were just 5 and 8 an illness forced Norm to change his career path from being an architectural draftsman to house husband. The 48-year-old Norm also became a second "Dad" to all of his sons' friends. It was said he had 200 children, not 2, and he treated each of them as he treated his own. He fully appreciated his job as Mr. Mom and was always willing to cook, clean and extend hospitality. In fact, he was known for making pancakes for the boys and their friends after sleepovers as an extra bonus. Norm volunteered for PTA and the school band; and also became part of the girls' lunch bunch. Known to be both persistent and electronically challenged; Norm, it was said, was committed to fixing things that didn't need fixing. If he learned of a task that needed doing, he was always ready and willing to help. Norm was a goofball in the best possible way and he will be sorely missed by all who knew him. He is survived by his wife of almost 25 years, Lisa Ann Schulman and sons, Aaron, 18 and Asher, 21. A graveside service was held November 9, 2016 at Temple Emanuel Cemetery, Dallas, Texas.
