Jeffrey Duke Rand passed away peacefully on Tuesday, December 30, 2014. He is survived by his wife, Paula Rand, his sons, Corey Rand and Nathan Rand, his brother, Russell Rand of Garland, Texas and his sister, Christy Wagner of El Paso, Texas. He is preceded in death by his mother, Emma Dell Wright, his father, Herbert Noyes Rand Jr. and his grandmother, Francis Lockett. Jeff was born on July 22, 1959 in Rockledge, Florida. He spent his younger years growing up in El Paso, Texas. Jeff moved to Dallas in 1989 and resided in Richardson, Texas at the time of his death.
Jeff was an avid musician and spent much of his life playing lead guitar with various bands all over the DFW metroplex. He had a great sense of humour, was a creative and talented musician, and a devoted father to his sons.
On May 30, 1993 his first son, Corey Alexander Rand, was born to Jeff and his long time girlfriend, Kelly Green. Jeff was married to Paula Ann Harrison on October 3, 2005. His second son, Nathan James Rand, was born on March 4, 2006 to Jeff and Paula. Jeff was active in Cub Scout Pack 570 and little league baseball with his son Nathan. Jeff was employed by New Life Ministries since 2010. Jeff helped many people cope with their issues in this ministry. He believed that beyond absence there is a presence, and that beyond the silence there is the word. Jeff enjoyed spending time with his family, friends, and at Reunion churchhe will be missed by those who knew him. The family and friends will celebrate his life at 2:00 pm on Saturday, January 3, 2014 at Allen Family Funeral Options and a visitation will follow until 4:00 pm.
