Dennis Paul Borgne

June 6, 1957 — March 1, 2010

Dennis Paul Borgne was born on June 6, 1957 in Detroit, Michigan to parents Kenneth and Sharon Borgne. He was the owner of a private concierge and personal services company. Dennis passed from this life on March the 1st at his home in Plano, Texas.

Dennis attended grade school at St. Mary's of Redford and Redford High School in Detroit and graduated from Williams High School in Plano, Texas. He attended Stephen F. Austin State University in Nacogdoches, Texas where he was a proud member of Alpha Tau Omega Fraternity. Dennis had many passions but first and most important in his life was his family and his friends. He always found time to help anyone in need without regard for what might be in it for him.

Dennis, (also known as "UD,", "D-man", "D", "King Shit" and the "Red Baron") had a sense of humor that was second to none. He found humor everywhere and didn't mind sharing it. He loved pulling pranks on his innocent sisters but delighted in getting his little brother, never allowing him to break a world record. The more willing accomplices he could entice in his pranks, the better.

As a youth, he loved bowling and played basketball and baseball. He loved the thrill of competition and excelled at everything he tried.

In his adult years, his passion for sports continued. He loved the Cowboys, NASCAR and most other team and individual sports. Dennis enjoyed competing with his friends and family in such things as darts, bowling, trivia games and Scrabble. He delighted proudly exclaiming "CHA-CHING" when solving a Wheel of Fortune puzzle first.

He was a proud American and showed it often. He was well known for his tradition of placing an American Flag in the front yard of every home on his block on Veterans Day, Memorial Day and the 4th of July.

Probably Dennis enjoyed his time at home most of all. His days were full from the first pot of coffee in the morning to a meal lovingly prepared for his mother at night. He loved his "girls", Mena and Xena, two ill-trained dachshunds who filled his days with surprises!

Dennis faced his illness with courage. He never complained or wanted to be a burden on anyone. His final days were spent at home surrounded by the family he so loved.

Dennis is survived by his mother Sharon Borgne, his siblings Lynne Curtis and her husband Phil, Tracey Rodgers and Kenneth Borgne and his wife Tracy. Also surviving are nieces and nephews Sharon Smith, Steven Curtis, Michael Curtis, Mary Curtis, Machelle Rodgers, Shane Rodgers, Walter Stadler, Glenn Borgne, Philip Hyde, Travis Hyde, Clark Hyde, 2 great nieces, 6 great nephews and aunts and uncles Glenn Bennett, Craig and Cindy Bennett, Michele and Ron Brayer and Kerry and Jan Borgne and many other extended loving family members. He was predeceased by his father Kenneth.

A memorial service to honor Dennis' life will be held on Saturday, March 6, 2010 at 3:30 p.m. at Christ Church Plano, 4550 Legacy Dr., Plano, Texas 75024. The Reverend Andy Bracken will officiate at the memorial service. Dennis will be laid to rest near his dad at Plano Mutual Cemetery.

If desired, the family suggests contributions in Dennis' name be made to either Odyssey Hospice, 5440 Harvest Hill Rd., Ste 200, Dallas, Texas 75320 or Collin County Children's Advocacy Center, 2205 Los Rios Blvd., Plano, Texas 75074, 972-633-6600.
